Learn. Create. Inspire.
I’m Chris, a mom of five, a designer, and a historic consultant. I founded my design firm in 2006, stepped away for many years to be home with my children, and have just recently relaunched it.
Pembroke Restoration and Design is the continuation of that original work, shaped by time, experience, and a deeper point of view.
This blog exists because people keep asking questions.
Friends. Clients. Other parents. People who stop me in a store or reach out after reading something I posted or seeing a photo I shared. Over time, I realized those conversations were where the real connection was happening.
Lately, I’ve been sharing more. Saying more about the work, the process, and the life around it. And people are responding. Recently, an incredibly stylish woman told me I inspired her, and I was honestly tickled pink. That moment mattered to me.
So I decided to keep going.
Here, I’ll share what I’m learning, what I’m creating, and what inspires me. That includes behind the scenes of family life with five kids, the real process of relaunching a business, and the beauty I find in old houses, historic research, and thoughtful design.
I work as both a designer and a historic consultant, so you’ll see insights from my research, details I uncover while studying old homes and landscapes, and the quiet decisions that shape spaces over time. You’ll see work in progress, lessons learned, and ideas I’m still exploring.
This isn’t meant to be polished or performative. It’s meant to be honest, thoughtful, and useful.
If you’re here to learn, create, and be inspired, you belong here.
Follow along. Reach out. Ask a question. Tell me what caught your eye or what you’re curious about next. This space is an extension of the conversations I’m already having, just a little deeper than social media.
I believe joy and love matter. I believe beauty matters. And I believe sharing what brings us joy is one of the best ways to move through the world. That’s what I want to put out into the world.
XOXO,
CC
